Wine Making: Tannat was historically grown in southwestern foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains in France and is now considered the "national grape" of Uruguay. Tannat traditionally has a deep dark inky color, and an almost smoky rustic character with high alcohol levels and rich aromas.
